Quaran-TEA-ni Series - Part 5

Quaran-TEA-ni Series - Part 5

It's Week 5 of our Quaran-TEA-ni Series!

A blog about all things tea cocktails that you can make yourself while you're stuck at home.

(Are these weeks going by incredibly fast for anyone else?  What happened to April?)

But welcome back!  So glad you're here.

This is your lucky day because you're not just getting one but TWO cocktail recipes this week!  Why??

Because it's my birthday so that calls for double the fun!

You're welcome.

Today we are going to talk about one of my FAVORITE ways to include tea into a cocktail.

First, a refresher...Hopefully you know this by heart by now...

There are 4 ways of incorporating tea into any cocktail:
(click the links to revisit those recipes!)

~ Flavoring a simple syrup
~ Used as a mixer
~ Made into ice cubes
~ Infused directly into any spirit

If you're following along, we are on the fourth and final method - infusing tea directly into a spirit.

I have previously given you the magic ratio for the perfect tea cocktail.  But here it is again for good measure:

THE MAGIC RATIO
~ 5 oz mixer
~ 1.5 oz shot alcohol
~ Sweetener

I'm going to give you another magic ratio - how much tea you need to infuse into your spirits. Another gift to you - I'm even doing to the hard math for you so you don't have to.

Again...you're welcome...

THE OTHER MAGIC RATIO
~ 1 tsp tea
~ 4 oz alcohol

OR

~ 2 tbsp tea
~ 750ml bottle of alcohol

You can do the math further depending on how much you want to make but that gives you something easy to work with.  I have made an entire bottle of tea infused vodka and then just had it ready anytime I felt like being creative.  Pro tip: we recommend putting it in the fridge once it's been infused.

I like infusing the tea directly into the alcohol because it creates such a unique spirit that you can't find on the shelves at your local liquor store.  Whether you like it straight up, on the rocks or mixed, these infused spirits have got you covered.  And what's even better is that they are SO easy to make.

On to the recipes!
