Cha Bo Shi (Tea Server since March 2012)
Which tea would you recommend to a “newbee” visiting for the first time? For a connoisseur?
For Newbies: Black—Gold Rush; Herbal—Wild Cherry; Green—Monkey King Jasmine. For connoisseurs: Zhen Qu Fujian or Milk Reserve Oolong.
When are you most likely to be found working at the shop?
Tuesday — Friday mornings.
When not working, where are you most likely to be found/what are your hobbies?
I’m a club hopper—not! Pure homebody, or I like a nice, quiet place where I can read, knit, and write.
Do you own any pets? Tell us about them!
3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 tortoise, and 1 chinchilla—full house!
What are your favorite genres of music…?!
I’ve lived long enough to learn to appreciate most types of music, including metal and (some) hip hop, but smooth jazz makes my skin crawl!
Tell us what you’re currently studying in school! Completed school? What DID you study?
I have a law degree but I like serving tea better—you hardly ever have to argue with people!
Do you have any children? Tell us about them!
I have 2 sons and 1 daughter, all of whom are my gifts to the world—you’re welcome!
Favorite vacation spot and/or memory?
My go-to rejuvenation vacation is Santa Fe. I love to drive to the pueblos, shop at the Governor’s Museum, and eat at Harry’s Roadhouse.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Arada Ethiopian on Santa Fe near the art district. (I love eating with my fingers.)
Tell us about your favorite Wild Thymes product available here at In-Tea!
The chicken salad sandwich is great, but the quiches put every other quiche to shame! When I smell them warming, it’s all I can do to keep from eating them myself.
What is your favorite baked good item from the Taste of Denmark or Cinnafusions available here?
I LOVE the crackers from Taste of Denmark!
Do you possess any hidden talents? What are they?!
If I tell you about them, they won’t be hidden anymore…
Name the last book you read or are currently reading.
Right now, I’m reading Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. Before that I (re)read Smiley’s People by John le Cavve, and next, I think I’ll read Unsaid by Neil Abramson.
Ice cream or cookies?
Potato chips…I’m not a sweets person.
Favorite childhood memory…
Rolling down the “hills” at City Park with my dad, then going on the paddle boats with my mom.
What do you do to relax?
Read, knit, Zentangle.
Have a silly “OCD” or pet-peeve? Tell us about it!
I always put the tea pots back with their matching lids, but then I like to mix them up to “color-code” the tea you’ve ordered. So if you order Cinnamon Plum, I would give a purple pot with a brown lid.
Water sports or snow sports?
If you can’t read while doing it, it better be a whole lot more fun than sports…
If you were a tea, which one do you think you would be and why…?
I would definitely be Royal Golden Yunnan because it’s stylish, mellow, sweet, and spicy 🙂
